Grants & Awards

IPS Travel Grants

The IPS are pleased to announce that they will again be awarding up to 6 Travel Grants of $1000 USD each to delegates presenting their research findings at their 20th International Visual Field and Imaging Symposium in Melbourne, Australia.

Conditions:

  1. Applicants must be the presenting author (paper or poster) of an accepted abstract at the 20th IPS symposium
  2. Applicants must be in full time ophthalmic training or a registered full time PhD student at a recognised University.
  3. Applicants must not have been in receipt of a previous Travel Grant from the IPS.
  4. The support of the IPS should be acknowledged in any publications related to the presented work.

Application:

  1. Applications should be made to the Secretary of the IPS, Prof David Henson via email (david.henson@manchester.ac.uk).
  2. Applications should include a short CV of the applicant, up to 3 pages.
  3. Applications should include a description of the applicant’s interest in imaging and perimetic research.
  4. Applications should include a letter of support from their supervisor/head of department.
  5. The deadline for applications is the 1st September 2011.
  6. Successful applicants will be notified by mid-October 2011.

Australian College of Optometry Travel Grants

The ACO are pleased to announce that they will be awarding up to 2 Travel Grants to delegates presenting their research findings at their 20th International Visual Field and Imaging Symposium in Melbourne, Australia.

Conditions:

  1. Applicants must be the presenting author (paper or poster) of an accepted abstract at the 20th International Visual Field and Imaging Symposium
  2. Applicants must be an optometry researcher at a recognised University or clinical research facility
  3. The support of the ACO should be acknowledged in any publications related to the presented work and the awardee must be amenable to having their award and photograph appear in ACO publicity associated with the travel grants or IVFIS 2012.
  4. Travel grants will be up to the value of AUD$1000 and will be awarded after furnishing of receipts at the conclusion of the 2012 IVFIS.
  5. Applicants cannot receive both an Australian College of Optometry Travel Grant and an IPS Travel Grant.

  1. Applications should be made to the conference Local Organising Committee, via email directly to Allison McKendrick: allisonm@unimelb.edu.au
  2. Applications should include a short CV of the applicant, up to 3 pages.
  3. Applications should include a description of the applicant’s interest in imaging and perimetic research.
  4. Applications should include a letter of support from their supervisor/head of department.
  5. The deadline for applications is the 1st September 2011.
  6. Successful applicants will be notified by mid-October 2011. Unsuccessful applicants will be automatically considered for an IPS Travel Grant, if eligible.

Awards for Submitted Abstracts

IPS – Heidelberg – Award 2012

The IPS is pleased to announce a call for applications for the 2012 IPS-Heidelberg-Award that will be presented at the 20th International Visual Field & Imaging Symposium, Melbourne, 2012.

Scope

The requirements for an application for this award are:

First- or second author in a publication which is accepted for presentation at the 20th International Visual Field and Imaging Symposium in Melbourne, Australia.

The award will be announced and presented at the IPS Banquet (25th January, 2012).

The sponsor may decide to divide the award to more than one winner.

The results of the award are final and no appeal is permitted.
