The closest public transport to the symposium venue is the tram network. The nearest stop is number 12 on Royal Parade. From the Melbourne central business district catch tram number 19 heading North on Elizabeth Street. Alternatively, trams to Melbourne University can be caught heading North on Swanston Street, after which a short (10 minute) walk across campus to reach Trinity College is required. Parking
University Square car park
Entry: Berkeley St (near corner of Grattan Street).
Hours: Weekdays - 6:30am to 10:00pm, Weekends - 7:00am to 7:00pm
Availability: During semester (weekdays) the car park fills and closes to public parking, normally around 9:00am - 9:30am.
How much: For 2010 - $3.00 per hour, up to a maximum of $12.00 per day. Flat rate of $7.00 after 5:00pm Monday to Friday and Weekends.
How do I pay: A ticket is collected on entry to the car park and paid at the ticket machines, located on Level 1 outside the East and West lifts. Ticket machines accept coins and notes and provide change. Receipts are only provided if the recipt button is pressed when paying at the machine.
What if I lose my ticket: Press the lost ticket button on the pay machine and make payment as normal. An exit ticket will be provided.
For assistance: Please use the intercoms at the vehicle entries, exits and at the pay machines.
Eastern Precinct car park
Entry: 375 Cardigan Street, Carlton, near the corner of Elgin Street.
Hours: Weekdays - 7:00am to 7:00pm, Weekends - press intercom for access (Staff and Students can request access on their ID card.
Availability: Staff and Student Casual parking. Parking for visitors attending University functions or events.
How much: For 2010 - $3.50 for 3 hours, or $7.00 for all day. Weekends a $5.00 flat rate.
How do I pay: Purchase a 3 hour or all day ticket from the machine and display it clearly on the dashboard of your vehicle. Ticket Machines: Located on each of the five levels of the car park. Signage at all exit points indicate their location. The ticket machines accept coins only and do not give change.

Central Campus
PERMIT HOLDERS ONLY - Midnight to 5pm, Monday to Friday
Entry: Gate 1 off Swanston Street (opposite Elgin Street or Gate 10 off Grattan Street (between Swanston Street and Royal Parade).
Hours: 5:00pm to Midnight Monday to Friday. All day Saturday and Sunday.
Availability: Limited parking via Gate 1 due to construction works. Limited parking via Gate 10. Carparks can be full
How much: For 2010 - $7.00 flat rate.
How do I pay: Ticket machines are located at Gates 1, 4 and 10. The machines accept notes and coins and give change. If you encounter any problems when using the ticket machines, please contact the Parking Office.
Infringements apply, so please ensure you are parked in a marked carpark bay with the ticket clearly displayed on the dashboard. If this is not possible, please contact Traffic and Parking for advice on 8344 7877.
